Goodnight Sweet Prince

There has been many a night over the past few years where i'd suddenly, violently awaken. Screaming in terror, drenched in cold sweat, believing old #4 had retired. Now that it has actually happened, i can't help but feel disappointed. Brett Favre's choice to retire now, after his best season in 10 years, is going to be a tough pill to swallow for a lot of Packer fans. But as we look back on his illustrious career, fans will realize that this man has done all that he can do for the game. He holds every possible record that a quarterback can achieve and now he feels that coming back for one more season, without winning a Superbowl, is not worth coming back for. Instead, at the ripe old age of 38, he will ride off into the Mississippi sunset to live away from the game he loves, gone but not forgotten.

UPDATE - It's a year later, Favre did come back (to the Jets) for a forgettable season. He has since retired again, still making the above post relevant.

BE AFRAID OF THIS MAN

Now i know as much about MMA as a blind man knows about a beautiful sunrise. Within this very limited knowledge i possess, it seems apparent that messing with someone who looks like this guy would be a bad idea. This is: Kimbo Slice - The new phenom in the world of mixed martial arts. He's big, he's black, he's hairy. Last week CBS signed a deal with EliteXC (some lesser known version of the UFC) to put these fighting events on normal TV 4 times a year. The first one is to take place at the end of April and this Mr.Slice character is going to be the star of the show. He's only had a couple of "real" fights (he was fighting in peoples backyards until last year) but from the looks of things, he's got the eye of the tiger.

UPDATE: IT'S A YEAR LATER - THIS GUYS SUCKS.

You Call That A Haircut?

Usually there isn't a lot to get excited about in March. Aside from Easter and St. Patricks Day it's almost as bad as February. But this year i am breaking away from conventional normalcy and marking march 11th down as a big, exciting day. Why? Well based on the picture i've included with this post, you can assume it has something to do with the Coen Brother's brilliant, Oscar winning film, No Country For Old Men.

And let me tell you something - that assumption would be correct. This, my friends, is the day No Country comes out on DVD. Sure there is no commentary and the extra features are minimal but it's still a wonderful film that everyone should see.

In fact, you can borrow my copy....just kidding.

Talk about dropping the ball. No posts for 3 months.

A lot has happened over the last few months. Nothing to gab about.
It's on to the future, not off to the the past. Am i right?
