In what was a very entertaining 2nd game in the ALDS, the Yankees were bamboozled not by Fausto Carmona's (i love that name) outstanding pitching performance but by thousands and thousands of little bugs. The minature monsters appeared in the 7th inning as the Indians began to wear down New York starting pitcher Andy Pettite. Joba Chamberlain came in to relieve and was in obvious discomfort swinging away at the bugs that gnawed on his chubby face. He seemed to be more concerned about the bugs than striking out his opponents throwing 2 wild pitches that eventually cost the yankees the tying run. The Indians had several opportunities to win, stranding numerous runners in scoring position, but eventually won in the 11th inning 2-1. Not only was it a well pitched game but seeing the yankees squirming around was very satisfying . Side note: Has Derek Jeter ever been outdoors beyond the realm of a baseball diamond?Friday, October 5, 2007
